How we clean a vent
Both ends, every time. That's the difference between moving lint around and getting it out.
Inside, at the dryer
We pull the dryer out, disconnect it, and clean the transition hose and the wall opening.
Through the run
We clear the duct from the laundry-room end, where lint packs into bends.
Outside, wall or roof
We clean from the exterior cap, on the roof when that's where it exits, and clear lint or nests so the flap opens.
Reconnect and test
We reconnect without kinks or crushed hose, run the dryer, and check that air moves at the outside.

How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?
For most homes, about once a year. Sooner if the vent run is long, exits through the roof, or the dryer runs every day.
Do you really go on the roof?
Yes, when that's where your vent exits. Cleaning only from the laundry room leaves lint packed at the top of the run and in the cap.
What are the signs my vent is clogged?
Clothes need more than one cycle, the dryer or laundry room gets hot, you smell something burning, or lint collects around the outside vent.
Can you clean lint inside the dryer too?
Yes. If lint has built up inside the cabinet around the heater or motor, tell us when you book and we'll plan for it.
How much does it cost?
Dryer vent cleaning is $250. Seniors and military members get 10% off.
